Your Path of Health

If life is a journey, then health is a journey.  Are you on track?

On this health journey, there are times when things are going smoothly. Your Path is well-lit and there are no bumps in sight. This might mean you’ve gotten into a steady exercise routine, have time to cook you and your family healthy meals, kicked the sugar habit, and journal every morning so you start your day with a positive outlook.

But what about when you mis-step and detour from the Path of Health? The Path becomes dark and difficult to navigate. Maybe you’re so horribly lost, you don’t even remember what the Path looks or feels like. You’re too tired to even think about exercising, let alone change into gym clothes; sugar and caffeine are what get you through the day. And you definitely don’t have time to cook healthy meals at home so forget about a luxurious habit like journaling. It’s almost as though you’re stuck in the mud that’s as thick as cement.

So, in your Path of Health, where are you right now? Are things well lit and clear or are you stuck in a dark muddy ditch?

The good news is, no matter where you are on your Path of Health, having a health care team can provide you with the tools to make your journey a success. And no matter what kind of action you take, whether it be a little step (or as we like to affectionately call them, baby steps), a leap, a shuffle, or even a crawl, you’ll be moving in the right direction.

With your healthcare team, does this mean you won’t fall or get some mud on your shoes? Of course not. Life can and does happen. But as long as we keep stepping to the best of our ability, we’ll eventually find our well-lit Path of Health and be that much closer to our radiant selves.

As Lao Tzu said, “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.” So, as your future health care team, let’s talk about that single step you can make today to get you back on the Path.
